Objectives

The course pursues the objective of equipping the student expertise in order to the main legal institutions that underwent the influence of progress in information and communication technologies

Contents

The course will cover in particular the following themes:
MODULE I - intellectual property and digital technologies: legal protection of the software; the author's moral rights and property and the user; the legal protection of websites like intellectual works (content and look and feel).
MODULE II - ecommerce and digital signature: information technology and telecommunication contracts Contracts; the on-line form (d.lgs. n., legislative changes until 82/2005, the legal value of electronic documents, electronic signature and digital signature; the legal value of e-mail); the sale telematics; e-commerce and discipline contained in d.lgs. # 70/2003 (consumer protection, contractual and non-contractual obligations, codes of conduct).
MODULE III - Privacy and personal data: measures of security; damages for unlawful processing of personal data; criminal and administrative provisions laid down in General Data Protection regulation
Module IV - protection of "domain names": changes in legislation and case law; analysis of regulation and assignment of the regulations for the resolution of disputes and confrontation with the discipline dictated by the European domains (".") and for the generic ones (".com", ".net",. org, etc); legal nature of the domain name and tidying of the discipline following the introduction of the "code of industrial property".
MODULE V - Computer Crimes: criminal rules concerning computer crimes; changes in legislation until the reform of 1993; individual crimes; sanctions and responsibility.

Teaching Methods

Lectures; the course aims to promote a joint work with students. The method of teaching followed alongside the ' theoretical with practical cases and judgments, to enable students to develop a capacity for immediate application of computing to concrete situations.

Verification of learning

The learning will be tested constantly through discussion and debate. The final examination will consist of an oral question on the program.
