Objectives

Provide a comprehensive theoretical knowledge and ability and application of the transport model needed to apply it to complex phenomena such as decision support in the planning process of a transport system, also integrated with economic and territorial. After completion of the course the student will be able to communicate clearly the theoretical insights and practical steps to deal with a problem of transportation planning and also also develop independently study and research in the field of transport planning.

Prerequisites

The courses of the three-year basic degree in civil engineering. Elements of statistical and microeconomy.

Contents

Introduction in transport plannin and modelling 10 hours.
Supply modelling:Data and space, Network and Zoming 5 hours
Demands modelling: trips Generation, Distribution, Modal Split, Assignment. 25 hours
Exercised Zoning Design and Network rappresentation 10 hours
Exercised travel demand modelling 10 hours

Lectures and exercises in the classroom and take-home

Verification of learning

Oral examination with assessment of the preparation of the student and the acquisition of the minimum knowledge of the methods and model developed during the course; evaluation exercises, which must be delivered at the end of the course, The score of the exam is attributed by a mark expressed in thirtieths according to the following rules: sum of the evaluation of the 3 questions and of the evaluation of the exercises.
