Objectives

General course objectives:
Acquisition of essential knowledge, both theoretical and practical, on matters related to the various modules of the Integrated Course, underlining the strong link between quality of acting, practical and theoretical knowledge. Providing the tools to critically evaluate the information received and for their integration into the wider training environment.
The students must acquire a method of study that leads to seek scientific evidence, continuously updating to always respond adequately to the needs of the patients who will meet in their daily work that must always be set to the updated rules and protocols and national and international guidelines.
The student will be able to communicate with an appropriate language in all circumstances: with the patient, the doctor, with colleagues, relatives and with the support figures.

General Surgery Section
Learning of etiopathogenic, semiologic, clinical and therapy basic elements and foundations for relevant diseases in Internal Medicine and General Surgery. To know and appropriately use the technical language. Describe the various illnesses according to the scheme: definition, etiology, pathophysiology, symptoms, natural history, complications, diagnosis and therapy.

Nursing in General Surgery

To provide a basic knowledge of the perioperative course of the surgical patient so that the student can acquire usable methods and tools to identify needs and pathways of care for patients referring to surgical services. The student at the end of the course will be able to plan the care of the surgical nursing: Describing the pathophysiological response of the organism to surgery and the characteristics of clinical surgical subjects; Defining support routes in relation to expected standards by type of surgical cases by identifying the actions to be taken on the basis of the basic needs of the person according to his degree of autonomy.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and general and clinical pathology and prerequisites as per Degree Course Regulation.

Combination of classroom teaching and interactive dialogues with the lecturer

Verification of learning

Evaluation will be based on:
• Knowledge of the program's arguments
• Ability to correlate knowledge and concepts
• Appropriateness of exposition in general and technical linguistic terms.

The exam will be held jointly for all the modules in the form of oral examination.
The final vote, out of thirty, will be expressed by the members of the joint commission.

Exam registration is carried out compulsorily by means of telematic procedure (ESSE3). The student willing to give up the exam is required to communicate to the coordinator the morning before the test.
