Course Curriculum CFU Length(h)


- Knowing and understanding: the concept of permanent education and formation in the life course;
- Capacity of applying knowledge and understanding: in the personal reflection; in the anticipation of the pedagogists professionality, in the projecting context;
- Autonomy of judgement: in regard of the texts, to the contents of the classroom discussion;
- Communicative abilities: that allow expressing their position and elaborating and interpreting the others point of view;
- Learning capacity: seen as the ability of using their personal learning approaches and blend them one with another.


There are no requirements needed, but a good knowledge of the aspects of the pedagogy, as well as in the theoretical terms as in the fitting ways of research and intervention.


The first part of the course (15 h) will approach the relationship between formation and life cycle, first of all exploring the evolution and the content of the very concept, in regard of the adopted textbook and of the main author's theories in the field.
In the secnd part (8 h), through a more dialagical and laboratory didactical approach, the focus will be on the life stages that require, right now, a specific pedagogical and educational attention (besides adulthood, infancy, adolescence and old age.
In the third part (7 h) an in-depth seminaral analysis will be proposed upon some social and institutional structures (CPIA, for example), that carry out educational/didactic itineraries dedicated to the different stages of life and are attentive to its peculiarities.

Teaching Methods

The classes will be in presence and may be enhanced through audio-video instruments and materials or through streaming.
In the first part of the course the didactic method will be mostly traditional class teaching; in the second and third part there will be group-working and exercises; finally there will be some seminarial encounters focused on specific issues of the course.

Verification of learning

The final exam will be an oral test and will consist in a discussion about the different parts of the course..
The criteria of evaluation are:
a) capacity of description and argumentation of the confronted subjects;
b) capacity of linking theoretical subjects to experiences, practical applications and interdisciplinary interests;
c) capacity of selecting issues and individuating priorities in regard to a posed question;
d) active participation in the didactics with personal contributions (in the case of not class attending students, this point can be approached, for example, through a work on a specific subject of the course).
